Strike!!!

Last week when Jason was out of town, my good friend Tiff and I took our boys bowling. They were all very excited to go bowling together and we had a great time!!! We pretty much had the whole bowling alley to ourselves which is always good when you have 4 crazy boys!!!:0) Here are some pics of our bowling adventure:

Our "Crazy Crew"......Max, Jack, Jake, and Carter.

Jack found the perfect ball!!!

Carter and Jake checking out the score keeping board.

Check out that form!!!

Jack waiting patiently to see how many pins his ball knocks down.:0)

Max and Jack waiting for the ball to come up the chute......I think this entertained them more thatn the bowling!!!

Gotta love the tongue!!!:0)

Aren't these the cutest little shoes!?!?!? The right one kept coming undone which only added to their character.:0)

Carter's "big boy" shoes aren't nearly as cute but I needed a pic of them as well.:0)

This is his new obligatory smile....I really have to nag to get a "real" smile out of him.

Such concentration!!!

And the wind up.......

Check out Max's excellent bowling form!!!:0)

Tiff showing Jake how it's done.:0)

Just too cute.:0)

Me and Carter (with an actual "real" smile)

Jack getting ready to let his ball loose!!!

There it goes.....

"Oh.....so close!!!"

The final scores......even with bumpers, I barely managed to break 100!!!

Buildin' Castles and Pickin' Flowers

We had NOTHING on our calendar yesterday which was so nice for a change. Jack and I spent a lot of time outside. Here are some pics from our morning:

The fort we built in the sandbox. The sticks are bridges (the flowers were my idea :0) )

Jack loves to pull his wagon around and collect things. Today he was collecting dandelions.

Looking for the perfect dandelion to add to his collection.:0)

For some reason he felt the need to roll and crawl on the ground in order to pick flowers.:0)

"Here's a good one, Mom!!!"

I love this picture....such a sweet little face.:0)

Tee Time

A couple of years ago, a family from our church who is really into golf gave us two sets of clubs that they didn;t use anymore (1 adult and 1 junior set). Carter got his set out several days ago (aftr watching the Masters w/ Jason) and has been practicing his swings in the backyard with wiffle golf balls. Jack loves to watch Carter and "help" him with his clubs and finding the balls so when we were at Wal-Mart yesterday, I let him pick out his own little set of golf clubs (no, I'm not one of those moms who buys her child something every time we're at the store.....he had Easter money from G-Pa and G-Ma Nickelson.:0) Anyway......after lunch yesterday we took the new clubs outside and Jack gave them a try. Here are some pics:

Heading out to the course......just another good thing about having a big yard.:0)

He made birdie!!!!

Posing for a pic.....I think galoshes might be the next bog thing in golf fashion!!! The dot on his forehead is a sticker....he was decorating both of our faces earlier.:0)

Check out that swing!!! I think we have a pro on our hands!!!

Heading to the next hole. He would hit a ball from one spot in the yard and then caddy his clubs to a new place to "tee off" (I didn't teach him this so he must have picked it up from TV or from watching Carter)

I love how he sticks his tongue out for better concentration.:0)

Look out PGA, here's your next big star!!!!

Upward Football

Carter played in his first Upward flag football game on Saturday. He wasn't able to play in the first game because he had just had 4 teeth pulled the day before and there weren't games on Easter weekend. This is the first year for our church to have the Upward program and so far it is going very well. The kids seem to be having a great time at practices and games and the coaches seem to be getting the hang of the program. Here are some pictures of Carter's 1st game:

Playing defense.

I love this one of him watching from the sidelines.:0)

Getting some last minute advice from Coach.

More defense.......his favorite.

Very intense.:0)

"Coach, I got the flag!!!"

Jack had a great time watching Carter play.:0)
(yes, that is a winter coat he is wearing......it was very chilly!!!)

Daddy enjoying the game.:0)

Me and my Jack boy......I just want to kiss that sweet little face all over!!!!

After a while, Jack got bored with the game and entertained himself by picking grass.:0)

"Look at the pretty grass, Mommy!!!"

Carter had a great game and Jason, Jack and I enjoyed watching him play. We're lookng forward to the rest of the season!!!

Easter Fun

As some of you may have noticed, I have sort of fallen off the blog bandwagon lately. As a result, this Easter post is sort of long...sorry. I will try to be better about posting more often.:0)

We started off Easter week by dyeing our Easter eggs.

We tried tye-dyeing one but that didn't work out so well, so we stuck with the traditional dunking method for the rest of them.:0)

Jack putting one of his eggs into the yellow dye.

Waiting patiently for the egg to be done.:0)

Carter dunking one of his eggs.

Showing off the finished product.:0)

Jack watching one of his eggs as it soaks in the dye.

Some of our finished products.

Both boys getting ready to head over to church for the big Easter egg hunt.

Jack was very excited to find lots of Easter eggs!!!

He found another one!!!

A little sad that all the eggs had been found.:(

Lately, Jack has been insisting on taking pictures like this with me...very sweet.:0)

He found the chocolate......note the full mouth.:0)

Carter showing off his "snake egg". These are special eggs that are really hard to find and you can win a special prize if your snake egg number is called.

Carter patiently waiting for the numbers to be drawn for prizes. He didn't win anything but Jack won a stuffed bunny.:0)

Carter and Jack on the way over to breakfast at church Easter morning.

We found Jason as he was returning from the sunrise service at the cemetary.

Me and The Stink posing for an Easter picture together.:0)

As you can tell from the look on Carter's face, he was less than thrilled to pose for this picture. Jack, on the other hand, was overly thrilled.:0)

Jack was very happy to pose for pictures for me.:0)

Mmmmmm.....powdered sugar donut!!!

Carter enjoying his meal at our church's Easter breakfast.

Not the greatest family picture but at least we're all looking at the camera.:0)

My 3 guys getting ready to dig into their Easter baskets.:0)

Carter was very excited about all of his Easter goodies!!!

So was Jack.:0)

Jack opening one of his gifts from G-pa and G-ma Hoerth.

Huskers shirt!!! You can probably guess which grandparents gave him that!!!

Holy Week was long and crazy because of Jason's busy schedule, but as a family we've really gotten used to the craziness.:0) We had a wonderful time celebrating Holy Week with our church family at St. Luke. He is Risen!! He is Risen, Indeed!!!! Alleluia!!!
