If you read our blog around Christmas time, you'll remember that we got the boys a fish tank for Christmas along with 4 fish (2 guppies and 2 platies). The guppies didn't last very long and I'm pretty sure it is because one of our platies is a tad aggressive. Platies are supposed to be non-aggressive but try telling that to George (our aggressive platie). The other platie (Speckles) was tough though and lasted until just this past Sunday. We woke up to find that he had died during the night. We didn't want George to get lonely so we went to PetsMart Sunday evening and got him two new friends. One is a Mickey Mouse Platie so named because of the Mickey Mouse-shaped marking near his tail fin. We creatively named him Mickey.:0) The other is a snail that we named Sally. I wanted to get either an algea-eater or snail to help keep the tank cleaner and Jason really wanted a snail because as he out it, "They're so cool!!".:0) George was aggressive towards Mickey at first but now they seem to be getting along well.:0) Here are some pictures of our fish family:

This is George. He was not at all into getting his picture taken.....maybe we should have named him Jack!!! LOL!!! He kept hiding behind the plants and would move every time I tried to catch a pic of him.

This is Mickey. You can kind of see the Mickey Mouse marking near his tail.

This is Sally. She is so much fun to watch. She gets around a lot quicker than you would expect a snail to and is doing an excellent job of cleaning the tank.:0)

Sally got herself onto one of the plants to clean it off. We've also found her on top of and in the cave that we have in the tank. She's not letting any bit of our tank go uncleaned!!!
We really enjoy our fish tank. I don't particularly enjoy cleaning it out so hopefully Sally will make it so that I don't have to clean it as often. It's fun to watch the fish interact with each other and it's really fun to watch Sally motor around and to see where she will end up next.:0)
